How classifications work

Outdoor classifications are awarded based on the number of arrows shot at or above the relevant threshold score, across qualifying rounds of the appropriate length. The required arrow count and event type vary by tier:

TierArrows RequiredEvent Type

Bowman Tier (B3–B1)18 dozen (216)Any competitive event
Master Bowman Tier (MB–EMB)36 dozen (432)Record Status events only

All qualifying arrows must be shot at rounds of an appropriate length for the classification, and indoor and outdoor classifications are assessed separately.

Classifications run from Archer 3rd (entry level) through to Elite Master Bowman (the highest tier). For full details, see the Archery GB classifications guide.
